Open Source India 2016

It was a great experience at Open Source India 2016 organized by EFY Group. It focused on the world's shift into open source and adaption. It was quite surprising to see big companies like Microsoft to come up with support for Open Source.

Event covered different topics on Open Source Softwares available and commercial utilization of the same.

Microsoft | Openness Microsoft Azure cloud solution started supporting different Open Source softwares. You can take a look at below image for Azure's different open source support.

Microsoft | AI

Microsoft bot framework helps developers to build own bot compatible with Skype,Slack,Office365 etc.,

Microsoft bot can be trained by the MS LUIS. Its free to try but limited to 10000 api hits per month, per account.

Open Source Database

Companies suggest to implement MongoDB for the database storage since its easy to configure and implement in large scale.

Companies like Airtel, Jugnoo, Digilocker (Government of India) implement their architecture with Mongo DB.

Other DB like PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLLite also adapted by few companies.

Wipro Galaxia

Wipro released a Open Source software to monitor the virtual machines and Database for the end machines.

IBM

IBM projected their Watson and Bluemix products with simple Intel Edison boards.

Apache Edgenet

Its a analytics module which can be implemented in edge devices.
